We are creating this blog as a source for people to discuss the on-going human rights crisis in Tibet, China and its occupied territories. We feel strongly about this issue as a company and support greater public awareness and education about this critical issue. We support beneficial and peaceful means for change.
In the United States and Taiwan, areas we feel we know rather well, there is a sense that people have kind of sold out and have given up on human rights issues in a real way. Yes there is lip service and people will act supportive to a certain degree; but often times when it comes to money everything else suddenly starts to take second place.
Now we are not against business and money, because we are a business and need profits to survive. What we are talking about here is good ethics and how this applies to all aspects of life including money. We do not mean to preach here; but the issue is really pretty sad if you think about it and we feel we need to speak up.
How many goods are imported into the United States from The Peoples Republic of China for sale to the general public each and every year? Billions upon billions of dollars worth.
Now most people who buy these items are rather pleased with the low cost and feel good about the purchase. What is wrong about this is that this is a very incomplete view of the entire picture. There is a lot more going on behind the scenes and most of it is pretty horrible.
The low price of Chinese goods, the high price in morality.
What people generally do not think about is the huge devastating human rights situation that is currently on-going in the Peoples Republic of China right now! And its not getting any better despite all the propaganda. Check out our website for news, history and video (www.h1investmentholdings.com/socialactionchina.html) to get a better idea. This is not just some Tibetan issue in the remote mountains somewhere; it is a real human rights situation that impacts and implicates everyone within the human family on this planet.
Hopefully this blog will be a call to action for people to search within themselves to make better and good decisions when they purchase products and when they vote. No action is too small. Every time a product is purchased that was made in the Peoples Republic of China it is an endorsement and vote of a approval for everything they are doing to their own people, to Falun Gong practitioners, to Christians, to Tibetans and on and on and on.
We are not anti-Chinese. The Chinese people are great and wonderful individuals who have a tremendous amount to offer to the human family. Their culture and identity is amazing and unique. We believe this truly inspiring and amazing people will some day shed their abusive communist government that is currently imposed over them and be free. They certainly have suffered enough on their own from this communist regime and deserve better than what they have got.
We are only against the existing communist government now in place which creates massive suffering on a scale that has never been seen in the history of mankind. Many historians now agree that Mao directly and indirectly is responsible for the deaths of nearly one hundred million people. A staggering number of a largely ignored genocide that mere words can not hope to describe, and yet he still appears smugly smiling at us all from government buildings in communist China and on Chinese money now in circulation. The PRC says they have changed and are better, the evidence shows the world that this simply is not true!
These human rights abuses can stop if everyone takes a small step. No action is too small. Peaceful and non-violent measures are the most powerful. Simply stop buying goods from the Peoples Republic of China to force them to change their abusive policies, make them grant real freedom to the Tibetan people and grant real religious freedoms to all peoples. Stop doing business and trading with a system that creates so much harm. Educate and talk to others.
We all have great potential and great power within ourselves if we choose only to act and take a stand no matter how small.
